THE HERMITAGE CASTLE Statement Of Significance
Hermitage Castle; Protecting and Preserving link;
Felt like the renovation, is done by the Buccleuch family. Today it would be at an extreme cost. It does not cost anything to not have any INFINIS, now Muirhall power wind turbines on Hermitage Castle Hill.
It is felt that the Buccleuch family looked after preservation in the past. Given the cost it is felt others of the United Kingdom should consider protecting and preservation . It should be noted that the writer is from the United States, and feels that being from New Mexico that ones own nation needs to protect the historical antiquities within their boundaries, and the cost to the Buccleuch family would be enormous, and the Buccleach can not long be dependent on by oneself to preserve this resource from the vandalization of INFINIS now Muirhall power wind turbines.
It is felt that companies acting in a manner of US power companies, and US citizens as opposed to UK citizens are not the best to protect UK historical antiquities, though these historical antiquities such as the Hermitage Castle represent ancestral homelands of people spread throughout the English Plantations.

Note; finding that Martin Ellot intern chief to brother Robert of Larriston (Redheugh), likely owned land in Teviotdale. As acting chief he lived on land just east of The Hermitage Castle called by the Anglo-Saxon name Broadlee, meaning a valley broad on the leeward east side, in which Braidlie to Braidliehope, hope meaning valley is. Since Martin was “of Braidley” in Teviotdale, though it was called Braidlie for a long time, and owned land in Teviotdale called Braidley, living on Braidlie near The Hermitage Castle he was still being called properly “of Braidlie”. It should be noted that he moved onto land of Prickenhaugh, across Liddel from, Robert’s family of Larriston. This was also near the allied recognized in 1587 Middle March Clan of the Crosar-Crozier. 3/13/2018 MSE

Been trying for years to get Braidley located by the Elliot Clan Society it’s proper location between Gorrenberry and The Hermitage Castle. Now that I am riding with the Armstrongs, and Buck (Buccleauch), it is felt I found the answer why the Elliot Clan Society is not willing to move Martin’s Braidley to it’s proper locality.
Though the Elliot Clan say Braidley is in Trevidale,
It is in Liddesdale, near Gorrenberry; BORDER PAPERS
Martin’s Braidley is high (north) in Liddesdale on land from the Armstrong’s Whitehaugh Tower north to the Hermitage (Armytage) Castle.
The reason The Elliot Clan Society does not want to support moving Braidley to the locality it should be located at because they support the propose INFINIS now Muirhall, wind farm which will vandalize the Hermitage Castle.
Christopher Powell Wilkins is the husband to the clan chief.
As one can see he has an Redheugh, Newcastleton, Roxburghshire, plus a lot of connections to many a wind farm company.
One can see he has links to MI6 and likely a knowledge of covert activities.
One can see also that a lot of aristocracy are receiving money. May be more power from that money than money for historical, archaeological land protection. It should be noted that the Buccleuch family has been providing and today in going up against the Infinis now Muirhall, proposed wind farm on Hermitage Castle Hill are still providing protection for the Hermitage Castle and it’s surrounding, so people like myself who may want to visit Scotland their family homeland from across the sea will not have there homeland desecrated by electric power wind turbines.
It should be noted that even the Prince of Wales, does not want to have a small wind turbine near him in the month of August.
